This option is ideal for someone who wants to learn about and manage bees for enjoyment of pollination but doesn't want to deal with harvesting honey in the fall. If you just want to see how much you enjoy beekeeping and don't want to purchase (and store) expensive honey extracting equipment, this is the perfect arrangement.
You still get your own hive and bees, and the amount of one-on-one instruction and hive inspections. However, in the fall, we will take any honey from the hives. Of course, you'll still get a few pounds for your family or to give as a gift to friends. You just don't have to do any harvesting, bottling, or clean-up!
In exchange for letting us harvest your honey, this package is only $280. You also save by not having to purchase extra equipment or bottles. Additional hives are available at the same price.
A small additional charge may be added for beekeepers outside of Dane County. Contact us with your location for more details. If you are located near our apiaries this charge may be waived.
More frequent visits are available during the season if you would like more help going through your hives. The cost for this would be $20 per visit for beekeepers in Dane County. A small fee will be charged for travel outside of that area.
- A down payment of $50 is required at registration.
- Pay $150 when the hive is set up in April.
- Pay the final $80 on June 1st.
